Privacy Policy and Consent for Data Usage

The Entertainment and Infotainment Portal (hereinafter “Portal”) is a service by FlixMobility GmbH, Birketweg 33, 80639 Munich, Germany (hereinafter “FlixMobility”), technically operated by Icomera AB, Odinsgatan 28, SE-411 03 Gothenburg, Sweden (hereinafter “Icomera”) and Spoken Ink Ltd, t/as Whoosh Media, Suite 38-41, The Hop Exchange, 24 Southwark Street, London, SE1 1TY, United Kingdom, (hereinafter “Whoosh”), all three together hereinafter “we”. Icomera and Whoosh act in their quality of data controller as required by the European General Data Protection Regulation (thereinafter “GDPR”). The data protection officer determines the purpose and method for the procedure. The data protection officer may be contacted via FlixMobility GmbH, Birketweg 33, 80639 Munich. 

Protecting your personal data is very important to us. Data protection is therefore one of our high priority topic. We strictly comply with the legal provisions of the GDPR and the Telemedia Act when collecting, processing and using your data. This Privacy Policy introduces the procedure by which we process your collected personal data, and that you provided us. We ask you to read carefully the following document to know and understand our practices concerning the processing of your personal data.


By agreeing to the following privacy policy, you consent to the collection, processing and use by FlixMobility, Icomera and Whoosh in accordance with data protection laws and the provisions below. Your consent takes effect immediately and can be revoked at any time.

Please keep in mind that this Privacy Policy is unique and only applies to the use of the Portal on board of FlixBus coaches equipped with the integrated system. If you are redirected to our booking page, a different Privacy Policy can be found that corresponds to this purpose.

Collection, Processing and Usage of Personal Data

Personal data are all information relating to a specific or identifiable person, including, but not limited to, your name, your telephone number or your postal and email addresses.

You may use the Portal without providing any personal data.

Although, you may provide us with certain information when completing forms embedded in the system or registering for certain services such as email newsletters or eventual subscriptions to our content partners. This information is notably used for purposes such as personalization and verification.To do so, the user must be at least 16 years old, or have received explicit consent of their legal guardian, Art. 8 GDPR. 

We automatically collect information to improve our services, such as browser settings, device IDs or unique identifiers and statistics about usage behavior related to content, but we do not collect any personally identifiable information.  

We use information to offer you a personalized experience on board, for example setting the default language of the Portal to the same language as defined in your browser settings. Using your usage statistics records, we can give our content providers feedback on what you like and what we want to replace. This information will be passed on in anonymized form to Icomera and Whoosh and will not contain any information that can be tracked back to you personally.

User rights

Under Art. 15, 16, 17, 18 and 20 of the GDPR, you have a right to request, demand the rectification, erasure or blocking of your data as well as a right of limitation of the processing of your personal data, and of the portability of this provided data.

According to Article 77 of the GDPR, you have a right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority if you consider that the processing of your personal data is infringing the GDPR.

Data Transmission

Your personal data will not be passed on to third parties except if you have specifically given consent to their transmission. Consent is defined either by a tick box pro-actively ticked or entering your personal data into any input form that can be associated with a partner’s or third-party’s offer. Different partners on our Portal may have their own Terms and Conditions. By registering an interest in the partner's offer, you are consenting to their Terms and Conditions.

Confidentiality of collected data

We are the sole owner of any data collected. Your personal data will not be sold, exchanged, forwarded or given to other companies, without your consent, beside what is necessary to ensure operational functions.

This does not include trusted third parties who enable us to perform successfully our activity, as long as these parties agree to keep your data confidential.

Data Security

We employ technical and organizational measures to protect the privacy of users of our Portal and the connected systems. To ensure the secure transmission of personal data, we use the encryption protocol SSL 3.0 (the underlying encryption scheme is the RSA-2048 used for the Public Key Infrastructure). This method is successfully used throughout the World Wide Web. All personal data (name, address, payment information, etc.) are encrypted and thus transmitted safely on the Internet. A symbol (closed padlock) in the bottom bar of your browser window indicates that you are in a secure area.


The Portal uses cookies. Cookies are small files that are stowed on your disk and store certain settings and data for exchange with our system through your browser. Some of the cookies we use are deleted after the end of the browser session, i.e. after you close your browser (“session cookies”). Other cookies remain on your device and allow us, or our partners, to recognize your browser the next time you visit the portal (“persistent cookies”). Storing this information helps us customize our Portal for your benefit and makes it easier to use by, for example, saving certain data entries so that you do not have to constantly repeat them. Your browser offers settings to restrict the use or deletion of cookies. The help function on most browsers will tell you how to secure these settings. Not accepting cookies may affect the service functionalities of our Portal.

Conservation period of your personal data

We retain your data during 72 hours and in compliance with the set forth herein Privacy Policy, unless laws enforce different durations.


To improve your user experience on our internet pages we use software from Hotjar (, 3 Lyons Range, 20 Bisazza Street, Sliema SLM 1640, Malta, Europe). Using the software, we can measure and evaluate user behavior (mouse movements, clicks, keystrokes, scroll height, etc.) on our websites. For this purpose, cookies are placed on users’ terminals and data from users such as browser information, operating system, time spent on the page, etc. can be stored.
